angels and barbs??

the LFS have some awesome baby tiger barbs that i picked up and im lovin em' i have 6 and plan on getting atleast 2 more

i have a 25 gallon heavily planted with fake plants as of now and i only have 6 tiger barbs and one puffer (will soon be moving puffer to its own 10 gal.)

but i really love these baby angels i found and they are cheap...... they are sooooooo lovely and i really want em, but is it ok to mix tiger barbs with angels, as i know tiger barbs nip......but i really want the angels

hmm too bad, i have heard yes and no my fellow co-worker (who works in the fish department) says that if the angels are about the same size of the barbs and you have enough barbs to keep them busy then i would be fine....

is that true??

The book i have that i always refer to says this. I didn't know what a tiger barb was and this is what it says under remark:
This fish is a fin-nipper; do not mix with angelfishes or gouramis

Combining angels with tiger barbs is one major gamble. They are fin nippers and agressive fish. Angels are slow moving wiht long fins. Even though having a large shoal of barbs does help ease the agression to others, it is still a major gamble. I wouldn't risk it if I were you.
