Angelfish

What breeds are the best to bond with angelfish? I have a dalmatian Molly, and 3 platies. I am thinking about getting 2 guppies and an angelfish, but I have heard mixed stories about these fish and their levels of hostility to others in their tank. Please provide me with advice!

My Angel doesn't pay any attention to the guppies in my tank. He only really likes the Bala shark; doesn't bother with any other fish. I think Angels get on best with other Angels; especially if they pair up.

I've heard that angelfish can totally ignore the other fish in the tank, or bond with them. Unfortunately I also heard a story from two of my friends, where the angelfish ate/killed each fish in their tank, one by one. My platies are finally settled in - I don't want to stress them again!

mollies and platies should be ok as they are too large to get eaten. The guppys may be at risk though.

What is the size of your tank?

you should avoid the angels instead - a 20g is not big enough to house even 1. They can get to 10" tall and 6" long.

i would avoid the guppys when i had a angelfish he nearly killed mine so i had to remove them from the tank

is your balashark in your 130L? if he is the tanks far too small for that fish.

I know that; he was a gift back when I was still new to fish keeping and didn't know any better. I've been unable to rehome him thus far.
