Hello people,

I first noticed that my poor angelfish have Camallanus worms about four days ago.

They may well have been there a few days before I noticed, so they have possibly had them showing for about a week. I gather from reading online that they could have had them for up to a month before they became visible.

So far I have used two doses of 'Kisuri Wormer Plus', which is a medication intended for Discus.

It's active ingredient is Flubendazole.

I have read that this is reasonably effective for Camallanus, and that it is suitable for adding to tank water rather than by food.

I initially used one 0.5 g does in my 200 litre tank, and then added another of the same size the following day after reading online that double the standard does is required for these types of worms.

1st dose 25th August.
2nd dose 26th August.

There is no sign of improvement so far, and I am worried that it might not be the right medication.

Am I perhaps expecting results too soon? Or should I get hold of the kind of medication that can be added to food?

Does anyone know if there are problems getting hold of certain medications in the UK for this kind of disease?

It's terrible to see my poor fish suffering from this.

Please help if you can.

Thanks,

Mark

I have just got rid of this.
Here is my thread

This should clean up some questions you have.

When I put in harka verm, I noticed the worms falling out after about 30 minutes.

Thank you so much. I am going to the local pet centre right this minute.

Then will do a 50% water change and medicate.

My fish thank you too! :)
