Angelfish Swallowed A Shrimp Half Its Size

my 3" angel decided it wanted a shrimp cocktail, and the shrimp tail has been sticking out of its mouth for a whole day. the angel's gills are going nuts and it is bug eyed and becoming listless, is it choking? what should i do???i toook the rest of the ghost shrimp out, i didnt know the angelfish ate them. please help! im moving in a few days and dont want any problems with the fish.

Ever go fishing? It's similar to removing the hook from a small panfish. Get a net, wet towel, and needle nose pliers. Get the towel wet, net the fish & hold it with the wet towel. Wiggle the end of the shrimp loose with the pliers & return the fish to the tank.

You might not even need plyers. I had a betta try and swallow a ghost shrimp that was it's size! I chased her around the tank until I was able to get hold of the tail, and then it just popped out. I think they get it where it's too far in to spit out, but too big to get down. She just needs to borrow your opposable thumbs!
