Angelfish Sick And Dying...

Add the maracyn need it more now the fungus has left an hole, plus it will give the desease a final kick up the bum as it sounds like you are getting somewhere now and you need that boost with the maracyn, good luck.

Update:

I added the maracyn and have done the daily dosage, last dose yesterday evening. Tonight I'm to do a 25% water change.

The Angel with the cottony substance lost most of his tail and a piece of his top fin. He's acting and looking great other than that.

I see no signs of illness on any of the fish at this point other than the transparent streaks in the tails of two. The tank looks awful from all of the medicines, can't wait to get it back to normal.

I think I'll stop adding meds for now and just keep a close eye on their progress over the next few days. I've purchased some maracyn two and tetracycline on ebay to have on hand for future problems and still have some binox and maracyn on hand. Hope I don't need them.

Wilder I really appreciate the time and help you have provided me, I would have lost them all if it hadn't been for you. As soon as the water is clear again, I'll take some pictures of the Angels you've helped save and post them, they are truly beautiful fish.

Good luck, still worried about the tails, wish you had an issolation tank so you could carry on with the meds with the two that still have tail promblems, carry on with the water changes, and keep a good look out as the desease can soon strike again if you havent killed all the bacteria off.

I do have a 10 gallon tank set up but it has some fish in quarantine in it. They've been there over a week now. I hate to stick them in the big tank and expose them to all of the medication that's still in there.

I could get the large tank cleared out over the next day or so and do the transfer. Then I could add the 2 Angels to the 10 gal. and treat some more. What would you use?

The tetracycline a stronger med, still need a good kick by the sounds of it, increase aeration, good luck.

Think it for the best, good luck.

Hows the little fishies doing.

Hi Wilder!

They seem to be doing just great! I haven't added the Tetracycline as I'm having an ammonia problem at the moment. I saw one of the Angels flashing and couldn't see any reason so I retested the water last evening. I did a 30% water change right after which lowered it a quite a bit. I'm getting ready to do another 30% or more water change in a few minutes and will test again.

Geeze, when it rains it pours doesn't it?

I think I need a 3rd tank...
