Dimensions: 24" L x 16" H x 12" W

Current inhabitants:
3 x False Julii Cory
3 x Twin-Barred Platies
2 x Guppies

Is this doable, or is 20 gallons too small for an Angel?

It's a high tank and the top half is pretty empty.

Thanks!

Im still new to alot of different tropical fish, but won't Angels eat guppies?

I can always remove the guppies to another tank, you maybe right, they might be a snack. I'm more worried about the tank being too small. The more I read the more I think they need a minimum of 30 gallons.

With larger fish, like angels, the dimensions of the tank are more important than just the volume. Angels need a tank that's a minimum of 36x12x18".

I thought that might be the case. Thanks for the quick reply!

A 20h has been standard for breeding pairs for years, though most often as a bare bottom tank. a 29 would be more suitable once you add substrate & decorations, as those reduce water depth as well as actual tank volume.

I think people sometimes do tend to overestimate the size of a tank for angelfish but i think you are pushing it with a 20gal :good:
