Hi,

My angels recently spawned and this is the first time i actually went through in removing the eggs from the main tank and tranferring them to a 20gal tank where i could raise them myself as the angels live in a community aquarium and i know my other fish wouldn't mind a side of angel fry for their dinner.

Anyways i just thought it would be a really cool experience raising your own fish and watching them grow up(haha i know it sounds kinda sad.. )

I know it was gonna be a challenge with all the care needed to keep the fry alive and healthy but it was a challenge i was willing to accept :fun:

Ok enough of me rambling on about nothing..here are some pics! :)
The water's kinda blue coz of the methylene blue i added and sorry for the crappy quality..i had to take most of em with my phone coz my camera just has to screw up on me :grr:

can i ask how you removed the eggs once laid. did you take them out of water at some point to move to another tank?

yes that is usually how it is done. most eggs can survived outside of the water for several seconds as long as they are moist. the angelfish breeder i buy from tells me sometimes his eggs are out for as much as 30-40 seconds before he is able to put them in his 1 gallon hatching jar, and they're fine!

congratulations on the fry. i'm actually very excited for my fish to pair off and lay eggs. in the past, time after time, i let the eggs get eaten. now considering the stock of angels i have, i'm looking forward to try and raise at least a batch of babies :hyper:

I've had a pair just lay their eggs on a big Amazon sword, how long before they hatch and will they survive if I move them to a fry net on the leaf before the eggs hatch?

Those look great i hope i can get my pair to spawn again. I will need to get their tank up and running again.

Good Luck hope you get a good number of surviving fry! :good:
