Would angels do well in a 29 gallon. If so can they get along with other fish? Oh and how many could i get?

Many people keep breeding pairs in a 29. You could fit 3, but if you get a pair out of the 3 the odd fish out will get beat on mercilessly. With 3 you have a 75% chance of getting a pair. If the place you buy the angels from will let you return one, you will have a tank with a pair who are compatable. Using the pair as a centerpiece you can stock around that.

Corys work out well with angels, a bristlenose plec & a trio of platys would work out as well.

Ok so I could get a pair of angels and a bristlenose but would a clown work instead of a bristlenose because i dont know where to get a bristlenose?

If you mean a clown loach, no. They need to be kept in groups & get too big for a 29. There are various plecs that remain small, check out http://www.planetcatfish.com/core/index.php

Many fish work well with angels, as long as they aren't small enough to be eaten, aren't a nippy sort of fish, or with pairs don't resemble another angel.

Sorry I meant clown pleco

Any plec that remains small will work, you are limited in this respect by your tank size. A clown plec will work out as good as a bristlenose. The only reason I prefer bristlenose plecs is availability & they are great algae eaters.

OK good because thats the only plec i can get besides whiptail, common, and butterfly.

I don't know how but my grandpa kept 6 angels and 3 cories in a 29 gallon and they lived for over 10 years in there, all quite large, some as big as my hand and some are still living today, some died in the transfer of tanks and my novice experience. :/ bad me

For adult show quality angels the minimum suggested is 10 gallons per fish. For potential breeders, which are usually adult size fish, you can go with 5 gallons per fish. Overfiltration and frequent water changes are needed with that stocking rate, but for anyone starting out, go with 10 gallons per angel.
