Angelfish Confusing Me

ok so i used to have two angelfish, angelica and buck. i recently got a new angelfish, red eye. at first buck would go after red eye and chase him and nip at his fins and a couple of times angelica would charge red eye. but now buck and red eye are hiding together and angelicas like half way outta the picture. what the heck is goin on?! anybody got any ideas?

30 gallons and ive just added plants and kinda made like this little area for the fish if they wanted to hide or something and buck and red eye have beem back there for like 2 hours

Mabye Red eye is a female and Buck's the male? Angelica could have been a male or female that Buck lost interest in perhaps. The chasing and fin nipping when you first added red eye was just agression and territorial behaviour IMO.

ok, idk, i wish i could tell whos male and female. and now bucks in the plants by himself, do you know why he would like being there so much?

Angels are cichlids, and will claim territories & be aggressive just like any other cichlid. Depending on the age you may be seeing an adjustment in the pecking order, or pairing behavior.

If you do get a pair chances are the odd fish out will be the target of aggression, pick up a divider at the very least.

ok, they all seem to be getting along though, all 3 will hang out sometimes and then theyll go thier seprate ways
