Angelfish Compatibility With Other Fish

hi everyone
my dad is thinking about having some angelfish and he is wondering what other fish can do in woth them part from discus as he not keen on keeping discus

so if anyone has any idea's on woth other fish he can keep with them
he will be keep angelfish and other fish in a trigon 350ltr tank will be fully planted tank that i am giving him to have to put in some angelfish but not sure on wot other fish to have in with them any idea's couldnt find anything on here about it thansk any help would be great


he will be setting up the tank in the next 4wks time ie 2nd wk in may

loads of choice really only thing you shouldnt keep with them is neon tetras as the angels will eat them
you could have
bleeding heart tetras
black or white widow tetras
rummy nose tetras
serpia tetras
bloodfin tetras
marbled hatchet fish
any corydoras
otocinclus
golden nugget pleco
sultan pleco
leopard frog pleco
zebra pleco
BN pleco
any apistogrammas keep 1 male and 2 or more females
keyhole cichlids
bolivion rams
german blue rams
red breasted acara
dwarf flag acara
cupid cichlid

just to name a few there are loads of possibilty's

generally anything that won't fit in they're mouth and anything that won't nip it's fins! (i'd stay away from the serpia tetras to avoid fin nipping)

That's about the best advice.

It also needs to be said that Angel fish differ in personality. Some are really easy going, some are nervous, some are downright grumpy. Some will just take a simple dislike to another fish for no good reason at all. Like many of these compatability questions, a lot of it just comes down to trying it, and seeing if it works. Sounds like a fun project though !

my dad does like my golden pearl angels and is going to have my youngers from me these are 1.5ins in body size

no we dont moving them from bigger tanks at my perents house

to these holding tanks for around 2 to 3 wks as we feed them up then they go on ebay for sale dont stay around long

As had been said, you can have pretty much anything that either doesn't fit in the mouth or nip fins.

I've had angels with,

cherry barbs
dwarf gourami
german blue rams
kribs
peppered corydoras
silver sharks
blue noen rainbows
swordtails
platys
BN plecs
khuli loaches
clown loaches

but the list that they can go with is pretty substantial.
I'd avoid betta's and I'd be careful with black widow tetras. I've known people who have been fine with the black widows and also people who have had a tank gutted by them.
It really is just a case of trying these things out. Just try to make sure you have a backup plan if there is a problem. A second tank to put them in for instance if things don't work out.

here's some of my young angels in my holding tanks








Those are beautiful angelfish. Their colors are very bright and vibrant! Angels are some of my favorite freshwater fish.

I've had angels with about everything.... my dad currently has two veil angels that are very unique in their coloration...he's got them with a dragon eel, a dojo weather loach, a powder blue dwarf gourami, some tetras(they have not bothered them at all), a ghost knife, a large iridescent shark, some upside down catfish, a red tail shark, and some plecos. They are very mild mannered. But a friend of mine had an angel that we referred to as the mob boss of the tank..he was kinda pushy. I like to observe angels before I buy them see how they act in the tank and think about what I'm putting them with before I buy them. But thats just me^^

But I really like your angels. They are very nice^^
