I was at the pet store and I came across these rams that were labeled angel rams
they defo didnt look like normal rams and Im pretty sure they were some type of hybrid
so have you guys ever see these guys?

Yes I have 2 of them They are called angle or I call them Balloon rams. They are a type of hybrid yes some say they are a ram mixed with an angle fish. Others say they were made that way from selective breeding. How ever they came about these fish are not found in the wild.

Here are my 2. The color is kind of washed out. But they have the beautiful coloring of the German blues. But are less picky about water. I have also seen balloon golden rams too I have though about getting one of them to add to my 2.

I love these little guys they are so much fun and pretty hardy. They get along great with other fish but will bully each other if they don't pair up. Not bad bullying some times they love each other, other times they don't They crack me up. My 2 balloon rams and my bristlenose pleco are my favourites.

Here is some info on them.

Balloon rams are NOT hybrids. The 2 species can NOT cross. Balloon forms of fish are quite common and they are then line bred to keep this trait.

Was just about to post the same information. It is impossible to cross an Angel and a Ram. Similar Cichlids can sometimes be cross bred, but these fish are far from similar.

I read it some place a few times they were a cross and I read other info saying it is selective breeding. So I was not really sure where this cute little round fish came from. I thought maybe the science world made them or something.

Some people absolutely hate Balloon rams because they are freaks. Well so are Pugs that's not what a dog should look like. OR the bug eyed goldfish now that is a freak.
