saw angel rams today they are sexy but every where i look they have no idea on them, not how they were hybrid, or if they even exist, no maintenece or angel ram keeping info. these intrigue me and am interested in finding out more about them, anyone have em? any info?

Some thing tells me they are German Blue Rams. If not what do they look like? I don't think angels and rams can breed together. Also LFS tend to give fish weird names.

SEE LOL! thats what i keep getting, appearently these ARE a hybrid of rams and angels, dont know how but what ever, they are NOT german blue rams, however the colourung is almost exact, except they look like and angel with an almost perfct round body.

I've seen them, look completely bizaare lol

i personally found it a bit sickening, like a mutation

Can't say I've heard of them before but found this site listing them (look like normal rams to me but a bit more rounder)

Believe the other name for them is ballon ram.

That is a normal GBR. If you search "Microgeophagus ramirezi" on google this is the first photo you get. So IMO, what you are seeing are long finned GBR's unless someone can find a pic of a hybrid. Either way I don't think it is a cross between a angel and ram. The species may be related, but the way they lay their eggs, protect them, and raise the young are completely different.

That is definately a Blue Ram, this is a good example of why when looking to buy fish to use the latin rather than common name. Two different sellers may use different common names for the same species and sometimes the same name for different species.
