Angel Problem!

on my profile is the list of my tanks nd species, its the rio240 that has come down with the problem ive removed the mollies , so all thats in there are 3 rainbows , a shoal of young angles 2 medium white angels and a selection of plecs as for over crowding?
the system is run on a 304 external , and the rio built in filter,as 4 water changes theyt are done every 5 - 7 days accordingly.
so i dont think im over stocked or under filtered Black angel?

sorry they are clown plecs not clown loaches, i have a pair.

How are they now?.

This is a real night mare :/ my 1 clown plec has just died, totaly lost all its colour and died , but the other 1 still has its colour , i also carnt find my snow ball plec , i dont want to start turning the tank over as it will stress them out more. so thats my twig cat fish and 1 clown plec.

Sorry, don't no what to say, don't no if they were already weakened and they couldn't handle the med, it works for some i suppose then not others, all you can do is put the weaken one's in issolation if you can, and hope that there is no more deaths.

Sorry a.i.m i read the first post wrong.

I have the rio 240 and its got 1600 lph turnover as the juwel just doesnt cut it but by no means are you overcrowded.
Do plenty of water changes with temp matched dechlored water to try and get rid of any bacteria.
Columnaris if thats what the angel had is very aggressive and will spread through your tank very quickly.
Quarantining should last for two weeks minimum as well.

Sorry you are having these problems and i hope you turn the corner on it.

Sorry for your nightmare, i wouldn't want to be in your shoes right now, can you increase aeration anymore.

Ok i went to lift out the clown plec as i was still and lost all its colour, it gave a little flick - so ive put it in the flow of the mollies tank ( still in the net ) and its come around and its colour has started to come back.
YAAAY  thank god!!
So now in the main tank the rest of the plecos colours seem to look ok, the 2 siamease algae eaters have settled back down.
I think i did over dose slightly, ive also found the twig cat fish still alive, i moved him also in to the mollie tank.
Ill watch closely and keep you posted.
Cheers for the help i was real worried for a bit then.

Thank god, just keep an eye on them to see if were out of the woods, fingers crossed.

i think its now just a case of seeing weather the angels pull through it as they seem like they are the 1s only affected by the flexibacteria C, the other fish dont have any visual sighns of the problems like they have.
I curious now to how well they will respond to the new meds - as in recovery i mean.
we'll see ill post tomorrow to let you know ,
cheers wilder. :)

what medicacted food can i buy or what med can use to soak some tetra prima in ?
I carnt seem to find any medicated food on the net in the uk.

Sorry as far as i no there isn't a medicated food in the uk, if you are worried you could phone a vet to see if he would perscribe you a med.

How's the fish doing a.i.m.

No deaths , Still only the angels affected by it.
Visually their fins have the look of finrot and i can see some veins especially in the 2 white angels.
There are no other visual signs, but these are part signs of the flexibacter C, for sure.
All the fish are effected by the medication and has made them slowish and slugish but they are ok, still have a bit of an appetite too.
The plecs are just mulling around, but i think they will be fine now.
The mollies i moved in to another tank are also fine so is the twig cat fish and the 1 clown plec.
So i read in the 1 flexibactor link about different meds used - none of them avalible here in the uk, execpt a mention of copper sulphate dip ( diluted i presume) . I have a bottle of copper sulphate and was wondering about any advice on the matter.

Copper sulfate . 0.0001 mg/L indefinite, continuous
bath 500 mg/L for 1 minute

2.3 to 4.0 mg/L indefinite
protozoa

protozoa

algae control
toxic to inverts and live plants. Prolonged exposure may cause anemia. kidney, liver and gill problems over time. Highly toxic to freshwater fish.

Not the writer of either of these.
Copper Sulfate Pentahydrate Algicide, bacterial problems, fungicide,
external protozoa, such as ich
oodinium sliminess of the skin and flukes 1 drop per gallon. and checked every 24 hours for total ppm.

You need a copper test kit to safely use copper. I don't recommend it for newbies.
Warning never use copper when
hardness of water is less
then 50ppm. Safer at 200ppm.

I wouldn't add it to the tank, enough meds in already, may be a bath if the fish was really poorly, as i would be scared to use it.
