Angel Fish

Hello just a quick one guys.

in my tank i currently have.

8 neons

4 plattys

1 brisslenose plec.

i was told i could i could also add some angel fish to my tank but the angel fish mite go for the neons but if i got a small one i could see how it went and should be ok.

so i got the smallest one thay had ( only 2.99 aswell) added it to my tank and so far so good havnt seen it go for any of my other fish and thay all seem to get alone nicley.

the only thing i have notised is that the angel fish seems to keep out the way quite abit and itsnt very active.

now i dont know if its because it is the only angel fish in there or what.

can anyone direct me in the right direction.

How large is your tank? Capacity and dimensions. Angels get quite large and need a taller tank. It may also eat the neons when it gets bigger.

Hi Dan,

Yes as far as im aware of, angel fish once fully grown will tend to eat other smaller fish such as Guppies and smaller Tetras such as Neons,Cardinals etc.

So if you do plan on buying angel fish I would recommend you ensure your Tetras have plenty of hiding places to avoid the angels.

As said, once fully grown they may eat the neons, although mines 5ish inches and in the 6 months ive had him he hasnt tried to eat any of mine, keep him well fed and he'll be fine

Oh yes, i remember and like I said it looks perfect for Angels, height-wise. Did you manage to measure it up yet?

Just going off personal experiance, I'd be watching him very closely if he's not very active. I had one that I thought was just 'shy'...he ended up not getting any of the food and dieing My angel now is VERY active (maybe a little skitz?) and is always at the front of the tank. I also find they aren't really aggressive when small as well. Mine has never gone for any fish, but none of the fish ever bully him. Everyone's just peaceful

no i havnt i will messure it up later on 2nite.

and he comes to frount of tank and has a swim about not much like he loves just hiding behind the plants i have he seems to eat well i make sure i put some food ovet the top ov where he is so i will just have to see wot happends


only i have plattys dropping babies like theres no 2mro i am now wanting a cheap second tank to use for breading or just to put the babies in anyone surgest a ok size tank to do this
