I have always had problems with angelfish. They all came from chcago, and that is about 4 hours away. They always got sick and died. But know, there is a breeder in Bloomington, and i got some angels. I got a huge marbled vieltail, and a mediums sized black veiled tail. They were only $5.99!!!!! I was so excited. They are the healthiest angels i have ever seen. They are full of vigor and are aclimating well. How long can angels live in water around 72 degree's? Any tips/ helpful info? I will post pics later.

72F is about 5 degrees cooler than the minimum I would consider keeping them at. Since their metabolism, including their digestive system, will be slowed down from the cooler temperature, keep them on one light feeding of flake every other day, and get a heater.

80-82F is a good angel temperature, they do fine into the mid 90's, as long as there is enough aeration, and any tankmates can handle this temperature.

Thanks, i will have to scrounge up some money to get a heater( eventually). The marbled is already eating, and the black hasnt started yet. I have noticed that the black one has a small defect but that wont stop me from loveing him!!!!!!!!!! I will get pic's later.

I just bought a Neptune 150 watt heater for 12.99 and it is working. The angels are active and eating well. Any one else have any tips/comments?

lol i dont really see the link to the Aulonocara Walteri in this topic

its a good sign that they are eating. i'm not to sure what the size difference is going to cause though. you might want to keep an eye on the little one.

Sorry that link was supposed to be for another topic. I will keep an eye on the little one. They seen to be frineds( maybe a pair).

i wouldnt disagree about the pairing. my female is larger then my male and they paired up. its only the aggression part that you should worry. if it really happens, then your smaller one risk getting seriously injured.
