Angel Fish Question

hi all

i have just made some space in my tank and while out with the mrs we seen some angel fish. now i have kept tropical fish for a few years but have never kept angel fish. so anyway i purchased two of them. they are about the size of a old 50 pence piece. was just wondering are these fish fast growers ? is it easy to tell the sex of these fish ? any more info would be welcomed.

like i say i have never been one for angel fish but these 2 really stood out and just had to have them

I know what you mean about when you see an angel fish in particular that you just have to have! I saw this jet black one about a month back and nearly got it but worried about my cichlids with it lolol.

As for growth mine went from about the same size as yours to 8 inches top to bottom in about a month or so.

they are quite fast growers given the correct food and space. its almost impossible to sex then until they spawn im affraid.

yeah i justy had to have them lol. gee yours grew very fast. wow.

these fish are in my 90usg tank with my sev, geophagus , 2 parrot fish (up for sale ), 4 torpedo barbs and 2 kibs ( bought same time as angels ) and catfish so they have loads of room. as far as food then all my fish get feed the best. i dont scrimp and save on food for them. its a shame its impossible to sex them. they do like to hang about together and wherever 1 is the other is not far away. but that maybe just youngster needing company.

another question are they best kept in groups or on there own?

if you want a pair its best to get 4 or 5 young once let them grow up together and wait for 2 to pair up.
