Angel Fish Problem!

Both of my angel fish seem to stay at the surface of my tank and will not eat

They have been like this for a few days now but they do come down when i feed the fish but they wont touch the food

Is there a reason for them staying at the surface??

They dont look right

It sounds like you may have a water quality problem. What is your ammonia, nitrite, nitrate and pH levels?

Also, what do their gills look like and are they breathing fast?

Havent done a water test this week yet

Yes they are breathing fast but all the other fish seem really happy

Ok, you need to do a water test. Some fish are more sensitive than others.

Do their gills look bright red and inflamed? Can you see parasites? Are they dull and brownish? Is there excessive slime?

I just didnt know what was wrong, and didnt how how to treat them.
My water was fine, all as it should be.

I think it was caused by a parasite, perhaps Chilodonella?

I moved both the fish to a hospital tank, and added aquarium salt.
As I said, 1 didnt make it, the other is looking doubtful.

I hope you are able to find the cause quicker than I did.

exactly what symptoms are you seeing? It's impossible to tell you what is going on with what you have just shared. Hiwever, there are many parasite meds that work for almost any external parasite.
