what the deminsion on your it might be a 20 long for your case

nope they are full fresh water fish, my tank is 15 gal, anyway this isn't about my tank is about RainyES, so back on topic

that not what i resaearched but ant way get on topic also if its the demisions that i put down then its fine

and salt for angels are a good idea because angel are brackish water fisfish and you putmore fish in a 29 than you think you can

ha ha ha, good idea if you want to kill all your fish.

for a 29g i would advise no more than 3 angels and maby a shoal of 5 small tetras anything else will be over stocked.

and yes grimmy you were very overstocked. especialy if you have that pleco as it will grow to the size of your tank.

what you think and what is accualy true are different things, what all do you have in there,
nvm pm it to me as i dont wat to hi-jack his thread.

angels are true freshwater, i dont know anywhere that has said that there not.

Anyway, why dont you just keep a pair of angels in there and nothing else, with just them to go the full 9 yards, breed them :)

yep hes right i might do that as well just maybe a few small sarpae tetras

I don't think that this thread emphasized enough and the freshwater angels are exceptionally intolerant of salt. grimmy, you really need to research these things before you just throw them out there like that. There must be some website that says that angels are brackish, because I know that I've personally has to shoot this down 3 times now.

Anyway, angels come from the Amazon river basin, some of the most soft, acidic mineral-free waters in the planet. The point is, angels are exceptionally intolerant of salt because their bodies never developed the mechanisms to deal with large quantities of salt. Their natural inhabitant never gave them a reason to develop mechanisms to deal with minerals.

The final piece of the puzzle is that angels have become a little more tolerant, because they have been coaxed into breeding in a wide variety of waters today, because they are so popular. That means that they can handle most tap waters, that have calcium and magnesium, but sea salt contains a significant percentage of sodium that angels are not exposed to in their native waters. The concentrations of sodium in the Amazonian basin are measured in part per billion or even parts per trillion, they are that small. Again, their bodies do not have the mechanisms to deal with large concentrations of sodium.
