Well after having my Angels in my 55 for about 5 minutes and (stupidly) forgetting how much my festivum hates newbies My angels fins are Really ripped up. Is there anything i can do for this besides feeding bloodworm? are shrimp pellets meaty enough? My pleco regrew his fins in about a week but the angels seem to be taking longer. I plan on keeping the angels. Im gonna move teh angels to the 55 and the festivum to the 10. Then im gonna rearrange the decor in the 55 adn move the festivum back after a week or two.

Melafix

Poor angels! :/ I hope they heal quickly :) If you've got the angels in the 10, you can use that as a treatment tank since treating a 10 takes far less meds than treating a 55 and you don't treat the other fish too. Just keeping the water as clean as possible is your best bet. My angel got pretty nipped up by the serpaes and I'm keeping a close eye out for finrot. Finrot is mostly brought on by poor water conditions so without the finrot the fins should heal up nicely!

I second the melafix, along with plenty of water changes. Adding salt to the water will help, make sure it is not iodized. If they are in their own tank, kick up the temp to 84F or so. This raises the metabolism, which speeds healing. Just make sure there is enough aeration, as warmer water holds less oxygen.

i cqant add salt due to teh cories so i am feedign freeze dried shrimp an dshrimp pellets. Can someone please post if teh Rearranging i Suggested would work? I want to try to move them ASAp

Seeing to the stability of the injured fish is #1 priority. The fins don’t necessarily have to be 100% grown back but make sure they aren't in trauma and are healing.

Rearranging the tank will most likely disrupt the territorial familiarity of the festivum. So yes there is a strong chance the fest will feel like the new guy in a new tank and might not be so aggressive. (please note the number of maybe's and might's I used... fish tend to be frequently unpredictable)

i am gonna try to keep him in teh 10 gallon for a week or two. I am A little worried about him nipping the rams but the brochis are bigger than the festivum
