Angel Eating

hello everyone. so, i have a marble angel that ive had for a month and a half. he looks great, is active, and lives in decent conditions. here's the problem though: he runs for the food, chews it up, and spits it out. he may actually swallow a small amount, and spits out the rest. he isn't skinny or anything though. is this usual?

Yes perfectly normal for an angel, I found them to be really messy eaters, grabbing food then spitting it out all the time, till I got an oscar

They do eat. It's just typical cichid behaviour to gobble it, chew it, spit some out, then go around picking the bits up again. My Oscar is the worse for it. He will stuff his mouth completely full, then gradually expel bits out of his gills in a 'burp' as we call it The Oscar is King of Messy.
