Sorry to be so demanding but one of my four angels has been bullied by the other three. The stress seems to be getting the better of him. :-(
Would he be safe in either of my other tanks listed below? Please help. I have him in a pint jug right now and he can't stay in there.
Hugs,
P.

I agree too should be fine in there.

Just came down from putting kiddies to bed to move the poor thing to my 35g and he was lying on his side, like he was giving up. With a little coaxing he started swimming again and he's now hiding down next to the heater guard in the 35g. I don't think he's gonna make it. :-(
Hugs,
P.

Poor thing, hope he does, keep us all updated.

Sadly no. The filter I ordered for it still hasn't come and I daren't use an unfiltered tank. As it is the gouramies aren't touching him. Every now and then he swims to the surface then falls back down. Just nipped at a gouramie that got too close tho. Almost like he's just exhausted from the ordeal. Whether he can pull through it is not yet clear. :( I hope he does poor thing. Been a real sad week in all and I can't bear the idea of losing another so soon.
Hugs,
P.

Sounds like a swim bladder problem they haven't been bagging him in the tummy area have they.

I honestly don't know. The 55g he was in has many hiding places what with the catfish in there. It is possible. He was out swimming with them last night and ate this morning. I saw no signs of problems then. The last dose of ich treatment went in today and a small w/c was done to remove some gunk on the sand substrate. I checked nitrItes today as I usually do when doing any w/c and it was 0. The others were tested only a few days ago and ammonia was 0 with NitrAte at 12.5.
Apart from some flicking from the whitespot problem by one of my platties there's been no signs of illness or disease in the tank whatsoever.
I did wonder about swim bladder but he's not losing his balance when swimming, just seems unable to stay floating. He literally drops down from the surface after having a burst of swimming to the surface. Breathing is quite rapid, as I would expect.
Hugs,
P.

Don't mean to sound awful but that is also a sign of a fish dying and the heavy breathing, they go to the top then sink down they lay on there side on the bottom, sorry.

I figured that too. :-( I was just hoping I could save him. Dammit.
Is it possible there's another cause? Seems a bit unlikely that bullying can cause this reaction so fast. I can't see any signs of problems and like I said he was fine this morning. :/ Swimming with the other three when I first got up.
Is there anything I should do for precautionary measures? I watch all my fish daily (until Sat when I'm away for 24hours) and often do lil w/c to keep the sand substrate looking clean. I check parameters once a week or more if they need it. I'm lost. I feel so damn helpless right now. :-(

P.

He passed on about 10 minutes ago. :rip: :byebye:
I was with him at the end and I swear he was looking at me and I'm sure I felt him let go. Am in tears here. I have buried him in the garden having checked him over to see if I could find anything wrong but there was nothing. I even just went to redo the test for ammonia in the 55 and it's 0. Even lighter than the reading they give for 0. What did I do wrong? :-(
Hugs,
P.
