Setting up this bad boy :) :) :)

Filing up (slowly).

Almost an hour later and it's 3/4 full, which is how I'll keep it until I've done the initial aquascaping and planting (don't want to fall in and drown :D )

It's a Rena 150x50x70, approx 433 litres (114USg) usable.

So happy, just had to share!!!

Very nice! What you stocking it with?

Thanks JayJay,

It's going to be community fish, the plan is to move the fish in my profile into it (the extra space should be good for the Clowns). After that I'm open to suggestions :)

I'll probably clone the filter on my 200lts tank on Monday and move some of the hardier fish across, the plecs will probably stay in the old tank until the new one has matured for a month or two.

Then I can think about my next project which will be making the old 200ltr tank an African lake tank. (hav'nt decided between Tanganika or Malawi yet).

I always wondered what people meant by MTS, for ages I though it meant Malaysian Trumpet Snail but now I know

iam so jealous so many people have got these tanks now but they are just to expensive how much did this bad boy cost you?

I confess it was'nt cheap but I think I got a good deal.

Oh, I don't know, it seams so coarse to talk about money but here goes, I got it for £749 including the stand at Blagdon Water Park in Somerset which was about £250 less than the cheapest I could find anywhere else locally.

EDIT: Forgot to mention, that also included a Rena XP3 canister filter and two heaters.

Gorgeous tank ! I have the same (just different colour)

It took forever to fill up - especially with a bucket !

The worst is trying to plant anything once it's full up - get your swimming gear out

Have fun setting up your new tank and look forward to see some more pics :good:

How did you get your sand so clean? I've tried to use sand before and it just stays suspended in the water.

No back hols project for me at work :( :( :(

Was looking at the 201x70x50 version of it at woodthorpe aquatics in lincolnshire for £999. Very nearly walked out with it (well not under my arm or anything lol) :) :)

Oh well enjoy your setup while I work outside lol

Why do the bigger tanks have to cost so much money? Surely 5 pieces of glass can't be that expensive?
OK so the cabinet would be around £200, but that's still leaving a lot for a tank.

A Bucket, Ouch :X that must of been a real pain.

I just wash it in a bucket using a hose with a jet nozel on the end, about half a bucket at a time and give it a good stir as the jet runs through it and keep going until the waters looks reasonably clear (dos'nt have to be perfect). Took me about an hour to do 75kg.

Yep, I saw the 201 at Blagdon when I was looking at the 150, think it was the same price as woodthorpe. I was tempted but I'd probably never get it in the house.
