My guppy finally popped on Sunday. It was depressing though, cuz as I was staring into the tank, looking at my platy fry, I noticed something dropping behind the breeding grass. The breeding grass is floating cuz it must've gotten stirred up while I was gone for Easter, and I never put it back down in the rocks cuz the platy fry liked to hide in there. Anyways, the female guppy hid behind there and dropped her fry one by one, and I didnt catch ONE live birth! The tank is situated so that I cant see in it from that side. I have only seen 7 fry, and boy are they brave! They are nothing like the platy fry, the guppy fry free swim everywhere, and just dodge the fish trying to eat them. They barely even try and hide, its cool though since I can see them more openly, I have to wait like 10 minutes to see a platy fry. Anyways, lets hope they live! I cant wait to see if they will be pretty!

Congradulations, it is very exciting when you experience a live birth in person. It took me three breeds before i actually saw her have them. I have never seen a platy give birth but guppys are usually easy to spot, and arent too shy even only seconds after they come out.

Good Luck, i hope they turn out healthy! :)

Well, their bravery has gotten them into trouble. I have only been able to spot 2 guppy fry now, and they are hiding in the breeding grass. Oh, and I also got some pictures of the platy fry, they are getting so big so fast. They have already developed the two black strips that line the outside of the back fin just like their momma! And ALL of them have survived! All 5 are growing quickly and coming out more often and for longer times! This is such a wonderful experience!

I know, im driving my boyfriend crazy cuz I will sit there for hours and watch them. Jealous maybe
