Anchor Worm

Salt can be used to control anchorworm but a lot of freshwater fishes don't like salt. Dipterex (Masoten or Trichlorphon) used to treat it but no longer does much to the parasite.
If you spot the problem before it gets out of hand you can use a pr of tweezers to pull each worm out of the fish. Then treat the tank with a broad spectrum medication to prevent secondary bacterial and fungal infections setting in.

Praziquantel treats tapeworm and gill flukes in fish and might treat anchorworm but I haven't tried it so am unsure. Other types of worming medication might work.
