Ok so recently all my plants have really taken off, they are all groeing ridiculously fast i have a wide variety of plants, But My anacharis Is the one im asking about as all the tips are like starting to grow bright red,. is this good or bad?

Thanks in Advance

it doesnt rub off, But its also appearing on the tips that are at the bottom of the tank almost 3ft deep away from the lights And on the new shoots the tips are red, It seems strange,

Just make sure they're not slowly going brown as then its bad, never seen it turn red tbh.

I am pretty sure I read recently that if the tips of anacharis are going red there's a nutritient defficiency but I can't find the article and I tried, sorry...so not sure now .I was researching for my own tank. If they are growing pretty fast, then they can run out of nutritients and you may need to dose extra.
Are you dosing any fertilizers?

HI, thanks for the reply's It doesnt look brown definitely red, And i have never added any ferts to the water, Wasn't really intending on growing plants much, But then i got carried away with plants and it is heavily planted, and it does make sense what you said as i have loaddds of plants and there all growing like crazy, so perhaps i will start using ferts, is there any in particular you recommend? Thanks

Neutro T from Aqua Essentials id good stuff.

Red tips tend to be a stress response in aquatic plants, normally to low NO3.

Low No3? Surely thats not a bad thing?

It is if you have a planted tank. There's nothing to fear from NO3

Ok, So how can i rise no3? Less water changes?

No, less water changes is usually a bad thing....
Dosing an aquarium plant food that contains Nitrate would increase it. Neutro+ if you stick with Aquaessentials.
