Went to Wholesale Tropicals in Bethnal Green today, and for anyone after brackish water fish, they had a few very nice beasties. While I didn't buy any of these fish, I thought some people here might be interested.

A very rare find was Anableps... a single specimen unfortunately, but nice nonetheless. Some smallish Asian soles, Brachirus sp., were also up for sale.

They also had some archers, freshwater morays, knight gobies, West African monos, Selenotoca sp., and green spotted puffers. Among the smaller, potentially brackish water fish were bumblebee gobies, Girardinus metallicus, and Heterandria formosa.

Cheers,

Neale

Is there really such a thing as freshwater morays? I was in maidenhead aquatics in west horsley and they had morays labelled as such.
I told my man that it was doubtful.....Was I wrong?

The only true moray known to spend its entire life in freshwater is Gymnothorax polyuranodon, a very rare and seldom seen import.
These are also seen in brackish water but landlocked populations are known of.
