I have been keeping fish for over a year now but have never had problems with my amonia. I have never dealt with high amonia before so I'm not sure if there is even a problem.

My amonia reading is 0-0.5

Is this a real problem, because I know that it isn't great to have amonia but should I be worried? What should I do?

Need some more info on size of tank in gallons or litres, plus full stock of fish how many and which kind.

I do a 30% water change every weekend, and it has been like this for bout 2-3 weeks. It is a 96 gal tank. My tank stocklist is

1 large fire eel,
2x silver dollars,
1 angel fish,
1 sailfin pleco,
1 catfish,
2 mozabican mouth brooders,
1 BGK,
1 tiger oscar

the pH and all other params are fine.

What filter are you using.

As if it's a juwel filter they are not that good.
Your gravel might want some extra attention.

I have just done a water change this weekend, and about 30mins after refilling I did another ammonia test. My ammonia has now gone up to 2.5!!!!! I was hoping to buy some more fish this weekend at my LFS but I don't think so anymore. I really need help!!!!

I went to my LFS ASAP at the time and got some AMMO Removal stuff. I really hope that it works  1 of my oscars looks like it has gill flukes though and I have read that ammonia problems can cause respiratory and gill problems in fish.

Red gills can be due to poor water quality so wouldn't jump to gill flukes just yet.
Will have to investigate what has caused the high ammonia reading.

I have ordered some ammonia removal treatment from the internet after it being recomended by a friend. I have also purchase some AMMO lock 2, for use until the other stuff comes. I will need to find the cause of this though incase it happens again. My tank has been cycled for 3 months now and don't understand what could have happened.

dont know if this would help or not but might be worth a try
