Hi Wilder your always there to help me cheers again :)

ive got a jewel record 70 tank

amonia was at 1-2 as i stated
nitate is at <5

and ive got 2 clown loaches
1 angel fish
3 platy's
5 neon tetras
and i fish i dont know what its called but it just stays on the bottom!

Is it a fishless cycle or using fish to cycle the tank if so, what fish are they, nitrite reading above 020 is lethal to fish thats why when fish can't cope you have to do some water changes on the tank, it takes it toll on the hardiest of fish.

How big are the clown loaches as they will need a 90gal tank, angel need a 30gal tank, and the plec by the sounds of it big waste producers do no which plec it is, and i doubt the juwel filter will be up to the job with all these fish.

You will have to get a bigger tank, take some back to the lfs the clown loaches and the angel, or you will get this, sorry.

Ammonia Poisoning

Symptoms:

The fish will hang just under the surface with labored breathing. Its gills will appear to be lilac in color. Red streaking may be seen throughout the body and fins. Fishes with ammonia poisoning will become lethargic and eventually die, maintaining their full coloring. The ammonia will damage their skin, gills, nerves and internal organs. The red streaking is due to hemorrhages (internal and external bleeding). Its mucous membranes of the skin and intestine are also destroyed. Damage also occurs to the brain and central nervous system.

Cause:

Abnormally high levels of ammonia.

Treatment:

Test the water to confirm the disease. If ammonia levels are high, perform an immediate water change. It’s also a good idea to use a chemical that will remove the ammonia. Activated carbon, Ammo-Lock, or Tetra Easy Balance.

about 4 cms each

If you did buy another tank just transfer the bacteria over or squeeze the old sponges onto the new in a container, and move the gravel or sand over to the new tank, that will help alot, then you can strip the old one down and start again with a fishless cycle if you sill want to keep it.

if im honest with you id prefer to start a new cycle in the new tank so i dont transfer any
disease over which i think could be lurking in my present tank.

Yes your'e right never add any thing to a new set up if the tank has desease, to be honest the tank isn't going that well anyway, nothing to lose in my opion.

sorry im abit confused so use the water in the tank or start a-fresh your last bit has got me confused!

btw im thinking of this tank 120ltr

http://www.aquaworldlimited.co.uk/acatalog...u_FH_Range.html

any ideas?
also as this will need filter/ pumps/ thermometer what would you suggest?

cheers

If you can afford it the bigger the better, i have 120litre tank but it's a juwel, no don't add the water from the other tank if you have desease in it, start a fresh but you will need to leave it two days before you add fish, i will be fine that size tank if you can take the clown loaches back.
