Amonia Alert

Has anyone ever used Ammonia alert?

I've got one in my tank, but I have not had a presence of ammonia since I got it (I have been testing to make sure) I was just wondering how good/sensetive they are

I prefer to use Tetra Ammonia liquid test kit

I also use liquid test.

However, I do have one of those in my 75 gallon. They are cool when cycling cause you can see the progress your tank is making with eating up ammonia.

Only flaw that I see with them if there was a slight flux in the ammonia, the color may not change enough for you to notice, however ammonia can still be at level that will hurt fish, so its not a substitute for water test.

But very good if there is a sudden drastic change, when you walk pass you will know.

I have one. And I also have not had it detect any ammonia yet (a good thing). You can test it, to make sure it works, by holding it over a bottle of ammonia. You should see the colors change. Just to let you know, it will take awhile for the color to return to the "safe mode." They are totally reusable (don't have to throw it out if it changes color) and will last up to a year.
