Ammonia Questions

hey, im new to the fish tank deal lol i was wondering i had setup my tank and everything and bought a lot of fish they all died except for my snail i then found ou that ammina killed them so i bought an ammina test and the cycle liquid stuff and a ggravel washer first i washed all the gravel until my tank was half empty then i added the cycle in after 24 hours i bought new fish mt ammina level is still light yellow but not that high like 1.2 and i was wondering if it will go down in time now and if it will harm my fish

It could take weeks for the ammonia to go down. You shouldn't be putting fish in there until the ammonia reaches 0 and the tank should also be taking the ammonia from 4 or 5 down to 0 in 12 hours.

Read that it will teach you how to properly cycle a tank, i'm currently in the process of cycling my own

my ordiments appear a little dusty too if i took them outn rinsed them off do u think that could help my ammonia levels aswell

I am having same problem with amonia. level currently at 1.0 was 3.0 yest and done a 20% WATER CHANGE. I have now this morning done a 25% WATER CHANGE. So fingers crossed it comes down even more.

Petshop also advises not to feed fish for a couple of days and to clean filter out.

Will test water this evening and see what results are.

ya im waiting 4 mine 2 drop shouldnt take much longer my fish seem heatly im just hoping it wont hurt them
