Me again.

After the ammonia level spiking again i've done another big water change (it went back up to 1.0 - not bloody impressed) and realised the interpet tapsafe i've been using is pretty low and i can probably only get 1 or 2 more changes from it.... so is that one ok to buy again? or should i be getting something else?

also im now really annoyed about the ammonia (still 0 nitrites as per norm) anybody got any bright ideas why it wont go away? Im adding bacteria, dechlorinating the water before it gets near the filter, washing the filter sponge in a bowl of tank water, using bacteria balls in the filter etc.. wits end fast approaching...

Seachem Prime if you can find it. Highly concentrated so great value for money.

Yup Prime is good stuff.

I don't think you're doing this but just in case, don't do any more filter rinsing until your bacteria colony is well established :) No sense disturbing them until they've gotten fully settled in :good:

I just ordered more Seachem Prime at Charterhouse Aquatics this morning. It has already been despatched recorded delivery so should be with me tomorrow. So if you want something quick, I recommend you go with them.

Prime all the way :good: Charter house Aquatics I have used for 3 years good prices and the quality of service is insanely quick :good:

ordered myself some prime just now, after going to two local shops who had never heard of it! doh- should hae stayed home away from the rain!!

did another water change, and a gravel vac and now we're showing 0 ammonia - too right as the last of the tapsafe has now gone eeeeek - im at the mercy of royal mail :/

filter sponges have only been done twice in 8 weeks i believe, is that too regular for a new tank?

Sodium thiosulphate crystals if your water supply has chlorine and not chloramine.

ammonia back at 0.25 again! #63###!!! and i cant even do a change :(

the fish ate yesterday, but before that was saturday, and not feeding much so i doubt its too much poo :(
