so i went to a hombase which is where i purchased my last bottle of ammonia (500ml £1.99)and was told that they were told to stop selling it, that along with caustic soda :( "The EU always get what they want" is what the guy said sounding a little annoyed himself.

So where does everyone else go. I tried bouyes and B&Q and one general hardware store called 'setam' i think it was, but no luck.

Cheers in advance :D

Oh no!! Nightmare if they stop selling household ammonia that is awful for the hobby :( The EU comment worries me further.

The other one people have success with is Boots :)

Wills

Boots, usually next to the cleaning items labelled "Household Ammonia".

Don't Boots sell ammonia?

EDIT: Ooh I nearly got in there first

This is bad guys. If the E.U have told Homebase they can't sell it then they'll have told everyone they can't. Except maybe specialists but I bet it still won't be easy to get hold of.

I could start ranting about the cause of this as this point but I won't

I really hope this was just a one off  i already bought a bottle in my local hardware store but forgot to do the check for throthing and it does a bit so does that mean i cant use it?

BTW it was £2.35 for 500ml

You can find household ammonia easily on Amazon.co.uk. The postage cost is pretty much the same cost as the product itself though.
