One of my amazon swords has produced some new roots and leaves towards the top of the plant.

what should I do with it? should I cut below the new root and then plant it? I was under the impression that swords made runners.

thanks.

Is it a plant on a lone vine. If so let it float for a while till it gets good roots then plant it in the bottom and let grow till about half the size of the main plant then cut it loose.

yeah I think so. it's on a vine that has lost its leaf so the only leaves on the vine are coming from the new roots.

I didn't think anything would grow with the level of light I have, so that's great. I have just been experimenting with plants really. Hopefully it will continue.

Thanks for your help.

Swords propogate by sending runners, usually at substrate level, from which new plants grow at intervals. The plantlets/runners are quite buoyant, so unless the runner is easily attaching to the substrate, (not so with gravel for example), they usually float upwards and look like stems.
