I got an amazon sword from Petco 5 months ago. When I got it I had no idea what it was since it was only about 4 inches tall and it was listed as assorted plant. It was also the first live plant I got and I didn't know much about live plants at the time. I planted it at the very front of my tank and it is huge now! I know sword plants can have massive root systems. What is the best way to move it to the back of my tank so I can put a few smaller plants up front in my tank?

wow thats a happy looking plant! you'll be fine to uproot it and move to the back (off centre is better in my opinion). You may be surprised by the amount of roots when you do lift it. the roots can be trimmed, it actually invigorates more growth. you'd be best to add a root tab or two once its replanted. best to be done the sooner the better.

You can uproot it and move it or just push it towards the back with it still in the sand

Easy, gently remove it, or "drag" it through the sand. No need to take it completely out of the substrate, as that will cause damage to your scape.
