Hi all,
i have a 20gallon and i know that amazon needs intenese and high lighting for amazon sword but i have a 15watt light. I read about this plant and it neeeds 2 watt per gallon but i was just wondering if a 15watt would keep it alive and with iron with it as well. im really unsure about this and scared cause it might die
 I just got it today, and oh yeah, its pretty big i'd say medium size and it almost reached the top of the tank. I have moonlight black sand as substrate also.
Some advice or opinion would be nice thanks!

You will keep it alive fine.. but growth will be slower.

I suggest root tabs as amazon swords do feed from the roots.

What kind of "iron" fertilizer are you using as of now? I reccomend Seachem Flourish, I have had great results with it in a low light tank.

I grow sowrds fine in 1WPG but adding some root tabs would be a good idea :)

We have a gigantic sword that fills half of a 38g tank and juts out of the water. Its in plain gravel, no ferts, and regular low stock lighting. It was about 3 inches long when we got it.

sword are one of the hardiest plants, they will grow in almost any conditions, but will grow best given the right conditions.
mine is in 1.somethging wpg i add the occasional root tab and liquid ferts with a water change, and they do really well

HEY GUYS THANKS FOR THE ADVICE. REALLY HELPED! THANKS EVERYONE!

Mine do just fine with 0.6 WPG. Slow growth, but they look great. I do fertilize with root tabs.
