thankyou GF and Zig - thought it was a lot.
Im not really sure 100% gf, i presumed it was for a long time anyway because some of his tanks have been setup for many years without many changes and this would be impossible if he ran a lot of light over the tanks for many hours every day, a tank i have in mind is a very large tank, i think it is in his house and he is photographed beside it, as far as i know this tank has been setup for many years without practically any changes to it and this is how he has managed to do it.
I have read this from a few sources but none that i could find off hand, i just took a mental note of it at the time, but as i quoted above, you will never know for sure how he does things.
I think the idea that most people follow now is to slowly crank the lights up, start off with 1 WPG and then 2 WPG for an hour or so, and them maybe 3 WPG and then for a peak period of maybe 2-3 hours really hit the power and have anything between 3-6 WPG for the duration of the peak period and then bring the WPG back down again, im not sure if this is how Amano does it but its probably something like that.
Dimmable lights on a timer........thats what we need............they are available but cost big bucks.
Edit: the quote feature isnt working the same as it was before.......hmmmm have to make a complaint to management............is that you gf...........another complaint......it wont let me include a smilie at the end of that first complaint either.
