Hi ,have just increased my corries ,and now my stock list is -5 bronze corries ,3 albino,2 pitbull plecs,2 dwarf gourami.,8 glowlight tetra ,6 green fire tetra, shrimp,i have a 110l tank dimensions[ 31inches long ,131/2 wide,171/2 high.Do you think i`m overstocked ,and what are the signs of overstocking to look out for?

what filter are you running?

I would say you are fine currently, but I wouldn't add more.

There are two sides to overstocking - firstly if you have too many fish that your filter can't cope with the waste and you have permanent levels of ammonia and or nitrite. - secondly if you cram too many fish in your tank that they don't have much 'personal space', which can cause them to become stressed, sick and possibly have a shorter life span.

Hi ,my filter is an interpet internal power filter pf3 ,don`t know if this is a good one ,it came with the tank.I check my water 1-2 times daily ,and at the moment they`re all 0

like I said - I think your stocking is fine for a 110L. If the filter came with the tank as part of a kit, then it should be sufficiently rated for that size of tank.

If your tank has been cycled for several weeks and you are still seeing 0's for ammonia and nitrite, then the filter is coping with the waste. You can now look to test the water much less (I only test mine if I think I spot any illness in the fish) as the filter should continue to be 'stable'.

I would say you have a perfect stock list maisy, im sure its a very lively and enjoyable tank.

+1, I can't see any problems there.. glad to see you got the extra Corys!

Thanks Kittykat ,can`t wait to get a bigger tank in future ,[don`t know when though] to get more ,i love them.

Tank size and filtration have a minimal impact on stocking, water changes are everything. What is the nitrate concentration of the tank and the tap water?

I`ll check them both for you,as i haven`t checked my tap water ,don`t i have to leave that a day though before i test it,in the tube?

It needs to sit for a day for pH, nitrate straight out of the tap should be accurate
