Am I Over Oxygenating The Water?

I have my airpump on usually all day 9am - 11pm and unplug at night due to noise. but my plants are always seeming to die, brown leaves. Ive not seen a snail in weeks so i doubt it is snails.

Any tips? Ive tried reading planted section but the whole CO2 thing confuses me, i have no idea what my light is either will check later on.

What lighting do you use and how many hours per day? I highly doubt it's ove oxygenating... might be wrong though

Could be lack of nutrients. Do you plant feed your tank? What wattage is your lighting?

I agree with the above poster, we need your lighting information, oxygenation wont have anything to do with plants, my guess is you've got too much light over your tank which means your plants are photosynthesising faster than the CO2 can be replaced via gaseous exchange.

doh just seen sticker on back of hood lamp is

Fluorescent lamp
1x 15w T8 25mm (1") dia

I leave on for usually around 14hours a day

I do not feed the tank, this is what confused me in the planted section

There's your problem, 14 hours a day is way too long, knock it down to 8 hours a day and things should improve (use a timer if you want), go for plants such as: Anubias, Microsorum, Crypts etc

This is my problem cant use a timer due to everything being on one plug. The Filter (fluval 2plus), Heater and Light all run into terminal and then to plug.

Unless i totally re- wire the thing after my exams

Well then you'll have to try and keep it to 8 hours a day by turning it on and off manually.

You don't even need 8, you could go for less. IE, just turn the thing on when you get in and turn it off again when u go to bed. Does the tank have natural light to it for the fish?

it sits next to an 8ft window facing a hill, so it gets some light not alot

Just get a multi-way adapter and then plug each thing into one socket, and the timer into another and then the light into the timer....easy

ive read that aerating Can be bad For planted tanks . Something about The oxygen takes away the carbon dioxide

Only on tanks where CO2 is being injected, if people are relying on ambient CO2 it wont be a difference.
