This is a list of alternative fish foods to bog standard fish flakes i have tried to so far plus the fish which seem to prefer them the most :) .

This is my tanks and stocking;

125gal tank: 25guppys+, 12 platys, 10 pearl danios, 24 neon tetras, 4 albino corys, 4 peppered corys, 4 panda corys, 9 WCMM, 1 RTBS, 5mollys, 1 7inch common plec, 1 8inch common plec, 1 10inch sailfin plec, 1 6inch chocolate plec, 1 4inch para plec(L075 i think).

30gal tank: A quarentine/hosipital tank, 2 mollys to keep it cycled plus 2 guppys and a platy

10gal tank: male VT betta, 6 inch oto's, armoured shrimp

When i first start out in fish keeping about a year and a half ago the only foods i fed my fish were bog standard fish flakes and algae tablets(king british), since then i have bought and sold many tanks and my stocking has finally evolved into its current state, although it will probably change much still over the comming months as i still have some more large tanks i want to get after christmas.
Here is the list of fish foods i regually feed my fish when i can;

Fish flakes/fry foods(brands);

AQUARIUM
King British
TetraPro "Colour"
TetraPro "Vegetable"
Liquifry no.3
Hikari "first bites"

The flakes are mostly enjoyed by the livebearers and tetras although they prefer the TetraPro brands by far the most.

Dried/freezedried foods;
King British catfish pellets
JMC catfish pelets
Hikari sinking algae wafers(large and small)
Tetra pleco Wafers
Todays Bloodworms
Todays Tubifex
Interpet Brineshrimp
Interpet Daphinia
Interpet Krill
Interpet River Shrimp

The catfish pelets and algae wafers are primarily there for the corys and plecs although every fish in the tank will feast on them given a chance, even the neon tetras- the only fish that do not show much interest in them are the WCMM's. Out of the freedried foods the livebearers and tetras enjoy the most, the brineshrimp, daphinia and krill are the favorites.

Fresh/frozen fish foods
STOFFELS international krill
STOFFELS international bloodworms
STOFFELS international tubifex
STOFFELS international daphinia

There is not a single fish in my tanks that don't say "no" to STOFFELS frozen foods :D .

Human foods for fish;
Melon(raw)
Tomato(raw)
Cooked brocali
Squid(cooked)
Mussels(cooked)
Cockels(cooked)
Cucumber(raw or blanched)
Tuna(raw)
King size Prawns(cooked or semi cooked)
King size Prawn eggs(raw)

The livebearers and plecs LOVE the melon and tomato, they even fight each other over melon in particular, the plecs also thoroughly enjoy the prawns, cucumber and squid. The livebearers love the cockels, prawns and mussels while the tetras mainly go crazy over the prawn eggs, although even the huge plecs will try to eat the tiny prawn eggs given a chance- overall, the human foods are the most enjoyed foods there are, frozen come second, dried third and lastly the flakes although the TetraPro bands are still superior to many of the other foods out there.

Out of all these foods, the bulk of my fish's average diet in the 125gal is Cucumber, Hikari sinking algae wafers(large and small), Tetra pleco Wafers, Hikari "first bites" and Liquifry no.3, JMC catfish pelets, Interpet Daphinia, STOFFELS international krill, STOFFELS international bloodworms, Melon, tomato and mussels and squid and king size prawns :) .

The betta gets frozen(and freezedried) krill, bloodworms, TetraPro "Colour", TetraPro "Vegetable" and mussels- the otos get Cucumber mainly, but the tank has some algae so they don't it that often, and the armoured shrimp gets some Hikari "First Bites" once a week. The bettas favorites are the STOFFELS frozen krill and bloodworms.
The fish in the quarentine/hosiptal tank have they diet altered depending on what they are suffering from or how new they are :) .

If theres any foods that you find your fish particually like, or any you could suggest i try, i would really like to hear your comments/opinions/suggestions :nod: :thumbs: .

Nah my lfs's don't sell them, damn shame that, was considering feeding my fish some mealworms though which do come live and are the only live foods i can get hold of even though they are meant for birds :fun: .
