I am setting up my 170L planted tropical tank, and I'm toying with some alternative decoration ideas.

I just wanted your opinion on the feasibility of the following. I am mainly worried about the happiness and physical well being of the fish rather than your judgement of my aesthetics (but feel free to comment anyway :D)
  • Lego blocks - I assume they will remain non-toxic even if submerged? What if they have little metal bits?
  • Crockery, glassware & stainless steel cutlery
  • PVC drain pipes
  • Copper plumbing pipe & fittings
  • LCD watch (water proof of course!)
  • Mirrors
  • Real bones (eg: a sheeps skull)
Any other unusual but safe suggestions?

Cheers

i wouldnt go with copper pipe and i think after a whine the bones may disintigrate
Good point - I just thought about the reason I don't drink the water from the hot tap! Other than the burnt lips I mean.
The bones thing makes sense too.

Do you think so called stainless steel & "non-toxic" plastics would be OK?

Not sure.. but would love to see it...

Im having sand, perhaps some java moss round the edge and a golf ball in the bunker ;)

Lego don't have metal and soubnds like a great idea, why don't you set a scene like a toy shop?
