Took about 6 silver tip tetras back to the LFS yesterday. They were healthy& growing quickly, but they were on speed, liked to party & made sure the tank was a pretty happenin place most of the time. Figured that probably wasn't all that great of a partner for my wife's dwarf blue gouramis..

Anyway, brought a pair of swordtails home, one male, one female. Got them in the tank, and they started swimming vertical laps, zoomin around everywhere..and after a while started to calm down some. I turned the light off and went to bed.

Got up this morning to feed them..and the male is gone. Checked the filter, behind the heater, took the tank down to just substrate, water & fish. Noooooo swordtail anywhere. Figgered if he's not in the tank, then he's out of it, so I then emptiedthe stand, and started looking around the entire livingroom with a flashlight inch by inch.

Still no fishy.

So, now I'm lost. The only theory that I have is that he got spooked, went racing for the top of the tank & managed to find the only way out possible & got out. Once out, flopped around on the stand, then to the floor where the dogs had a midnight snack?

Do dogs even like fish?

Any other ideas?

Todd

If your fish got out of the tank it is likely your dogs ate it. IME they will eat pretty much anything! Sorry about your fish. :)
