Alright ever since I came to this Forum...

OK I give in.

My limiting factor for these fellas would be heat. If I pass the heat test I will go research for a month like I do all my other fish things before taking any action.

So, what is the Max CONSITIANT heat betas can handle? The condo gets quite hot in the summer... and no way im getting a chiller for betas

My Bettas were always kept at a steady 30C or 86F, Im not sure any fish will do well above that for long periods.

Probably high 80's or very low 90's. I wouldn't reccomend either. Maybe keep him away from windows or in a closet. [bettas has two t's ] Sorry, i just had to do that

a solid answer for a single temp that bettas are comfortable with on the higher side, for an indefinate period would be nice....

any how if its over 80 I will look it up ty.

As long as it's warm....high seventies and well into the 80's, he'll be fine. Everybody may flip their top over this but....fluxuation is the key. My house fluxuates within a 5 or 6 degree radius and it gives them an extremely high immunity.

I fluxuate my fry tank the same way, it makes them more resistent.

That would make sense from their environment....
So, you would suggest just a heater capping the bottom temp say 78 ish?


Trying to control myself.. ended up spending a little too much time at some of those breeder sites!

Last year i August we had a bit of a heat wave, and my water was up to 94 for for days added an air stone just at low bubbles and all the bettas were fine normally kept at 82 all year round, they did spawn as well during the four days so fluctuation is proberley the key, but they didnt spawn till a massive thunder storm appeared on the 5 day and then all my male were blowing bubbles...............
