Swiming in a pond. ...no, not really.
Yes, I know I've been missing from here for a bit. Sorry.

I now have two ten gallon tanks, one housing my beautiful Delta Tail Ame. As of late, he's been resting near the two plants I've put in the tank, not eating, and now he (plus most of my other fish) has the white splotch that was first seen on Sasame. But because I have no job, nor any other mean of income, I couldn't get a heater. I've been keeping the hood light on contsantly to try to keep the water above room temp, but I'm not sure if it's working. Is this because of the temp, or the mysterious splotch? I've treated him with Melafix and a fungal medicine and it hasen't dissapeared.

Same treatment for the girls/Haku. Now not only does Sasame has it, but Azul and Lita do too. Azul has even lost scales on her head, although to what I'm not sure. They have not been showng the behavour problems that Ame is showing, but they seemed to have calmed down a bit. Haku is the only fish without the splotch.

One last thing. I suspect Lita, who I bought as a VT, is a Delta. Her bottom tail is pointed sharply, and her tail fans out a lot more than a Vt's should. (Camera's busted.) Azul, and Ame, who I've treated with Melafix for a while, are not getting their tails back. It really bothers me. What else can I do for their tails?

Im not a betta expert, but someone once told me that if you confine your betta for a decent period of time their tails will grow back. I have tried this in the past and they ended up chewing on thier own tail.

For the first part i think you need Wilder, shes ace when it comes to illnesses in fish. As for the girls tails are you keeping the water really clean? cold water could make growth slower and i know it takes a while any way. Is there any sign of fin rot on the girls of that there tails are getting shorter?

Definatly no fin rot. I keep the tank really clean, as much as I can get it. They have a heater in that tank, set to 78 degrees. I really can't afford a heater for the new ten gallon. Even if it is only 15$, I don't get any money.

do you use any salt ? a half teaspoon of aquarium salt per gallon will help heal up fins.not table salt the iodine will kill them. and definatly post in emegrgencys and ask for wilder?? she ?? is all knowing with the illness and diease,, and wilder are you a girl i thought i head sombody refere to you as him,.??

 when I mention any one on here I never know if they are male or female.
I know your position about money. They are probably too cold. Is there any way you can float them in the warm tank for a week or so? have you got a breeding trap? I have a little girl and her tail was nibbled when I got her and that isnt growing back. She is feisty though.... :good: ps she is in cold water..
