Almost Got My Final Fish Selection....which To Choose?

Got a 60 litre/15 gallon tank, ive narrowed my choices down to:

1. 7 Cardinal Tetra's and 7 Zebra Danios
2. 7 Cardinal Tetra's and 7 White Cloud Mountain Minnows
3. 7 White Cloud Mountain Minnows and 7 Zebra Danios

Anyone have any opinions on which to choose? Looking for an active fun to watch tank, which Zebra Danios seem to be best at out of the 3 anyway, they seem active and move speedily around a lot of the tank decorations in the videos i've seen.

Option 1, don't mountain minnows need to be in slightly cooler water than cardinals? If yes, then options 1 and 3 not option 2. Good luck

I second the idea of no white clouds. I would also possibly suggest against the danios. I am unsure the dimensions of your tank but they like having a long area to zip around in.

Its 60cm/24" long.

Am I guessing right in thinking you are about to do a 'with fish' cycle?

I only ask as Danios seem to be the fish of choice.

In a small tank Danios will be dashing around all over the place, especially when they see you (food time!). This may be fun at first but all going well you will have them for a long time.

Nah im currently doing a fishless cycle, i just picked them out at the LFS as an interesting fish that mixes with others that i like too.

My comments are just based on my own experience. I have long finned leapard & zebra danios which I got as i thought, like you, they would be entertaining top tank dwellers. I now find them a bit too energetic and limit my choices of other more peaceful species. Mine are here to stay though, a fish is not just for Christmas

By coldwater do you mean no heater at all, or one set to say 18C? I knew they could accept lower temps, but didnt think they could go really low (incase my room got cold).

Yep no heater at all, at the store where i work they are kept in coldwater systems without a problem,
