Hi all,

Well the plants in the nano are still growing nicely, runnin, shooting, sprouting etc.

But the duck weed I added started to multiply, then just turned white and died... also the troublesome hair algai in on my anubis, also turned white and died, all the toher plants are doing fine, and I dose ferts appropiatly after water changes....

any ideas?

Thanks,
Nurglespuss.

I don't have an explanation (sorry), but just too add I've had odd stuff like this happen before. For example I split a large clump of java moss so that I could take some to uni to grow on.
Came back home and the other half had literally started to spontaneously die... nothing had changed in my tank (that I'd added or taken out)... and the moss I'd taken with me was fine. So I know how you feel.

did you recently changed your lights on higher watts or did you increase dosage or get more CO2 in it? did you add remove fish recently? i mean, any changes to the routine recently?

Nothing at all, its a low tech system (9w light), no CO2, open topped etc. nothing added yet (snails were present, but died off - perhaps a hint that something is wrong, but nothing has come up on testing the water, and my worries about copper in fake vine were unfounded).

I'm really not sure, perhaps the temp is too high, or, as the other plants are growing so quickly, they merely out-competed it...
