Hi,
I have alot of random questions involving fish, ecspecially breeding fish. Here they are, thanks for any answers.

How do you post pictures on the fourms beside my profile picture? :hey:I click the insert image tab and it asks for a URL...?

Can mollies be bred in the community tank?

How long are platies and mollies pregnant for?

Does anybody know how to make a homemade breeders box/trap?

Mollies and platies don't have a gravid spot, they just square off, right?

I have a few more questions as to if two of my platies are pregnant but it's hard to explain without pictures so I'll wait for that question of mine to be answered... thanks for all the help!!

I've noticed that I don't have many replies, please help, I would greatly appreciate it.

i am no expert at this at all and about 2 weeks ago i was asking the same questions as u im breeding guppies though i think there the same these breed ever 1-2 months and ones u have a male in the tank he will "sex" up to 4-5 females the males will harrase them ALOT! so you should have 1 male for every 3 females from once pregnant it takes about 1 month i think when they are squared off alot just keep an eye out once they ant moving much and hiding this means they close to being pregnant im not sure about the breeder box im just useing one i bought for cheap

i hope this helps btw i wouldnt rely on this becuase i still havnt got any babies yet =] and im far from an expert but i find u wont get much answers on this fourms lol ;)

The easiest way that I know to post pictures is to unpload them to a hosting site like photobucket and simply provide links to those pictures from here. If you copy the IMG code from such a site and simply paste it in here as text, the picture will appear to people here like this one of my rainbow cichlids.

Mollies will breed no matter where they are located. Molly fry will not often survive predation in a community setting but can often do fairly well in a single species tank.

Mollies and platies both carry fry for about 4 weeks but the time between drops can easily be as much as 6 weeks.

To judge mollies or platies, you are right that a gravid spot is seldom ever seen. Instead I do indeed use shape for judging my own fish. There is a reference subject that you can reach from a link in my signature area. I have called it My Molly's Progress and it documents, with plenty of pictures, the entire cycle from one drop to the next of one of my mollies. The idea when I made it was to make each new fish keeper their own expert at judging the stage of their fish's development.

Ok, thank you. Btw, your fish are pretty... ;)
