All Male Platy Group?

Would an all male platy group work out?? Or do they need some females in there??

I don't think this would work out for the best,they would probley chase and fight each other.

It depends on individual temprement. I bought 3 male platys to start with (no females) and one was a terrible bully, I had to take him back. Swapped him for another and the 3 of them were fine until about a month ago when one died of some sort of bacterial infection. The 2 I have now still get on really well. I occsionally see one chase the other off but if never comes to much, usually they swim around together happily.

Platy males you always have trouble with - one or more is always a bully and they spend their time fighting even though they are supposed to be peaceful community fish but I have never found this to be the case!! If you buy females be prepared to be over run with them - they breed like rabbits!

Thanks guys. I guess I either run the risk, and get a small male platy group. Or get a small male & female platy group, to reduce the breeding; not sure what I would do with a load of baby platys! I will have angels in there, so I could let nature work and leave them to survive on their own. Survival of the fittest and all that... Would feed my angels and I would have a hardy platy population! But this is a little cruel, and I'm not that sort of person!
