Yesterday I purchased some new plants, and 3 new fish. A few hours after adding them to the tank, I noticed a strange little creature indeed. About 2CM long, with six little legs close together at the front of the body, a good length of body then a three-finned fanned tail complete with little hair-like tassels on them. It's head was small but wide with eyes at the sides, not front. It crawled onto a tunnel ornament, ferociously launched itself at a adult molly when she went up for a nibble on it. This things has guts! It then disappeared into the plants and I haven't seen it since. It's a translucent, greenish-yellow colour. The skin was scaleless.

What on earth is it?!

I just had a look at that link, and looked up more pictures on google images. It does look strikingly similar apart from the skin - the skin was soft, no scales, nothing. It was just like a translucent axolotl, really. Perhaps it's just in an earlier stage of developing and has not yet grown it's exoskeleton?
