but one problem, bio spira??? i got it and i have heard that you put your fish in right after you add the bio-spira

or is it you wait a night

or a week, i have heard all of these things.....????

what is the right one!!??

Nice posting tttnjfttt! Also, i think it would be wise to post in the planted section. They know there stuff there, and you will get much more of a direct and accurate response.

alright i will take that into consideration, thanks... i think its mostly becuase i need more plants, and more algea eaters

i have this problem too.i havent yet found a cure.but when i do i will share it with you!

thanks sheapard!! yeah sounds good so far i have just let it go, put in some otos and they ate most algea around the tank (the stuff i havnt even noticed) and i put in the bio spira, that seemed like it helped, the puffers are now in there and enjoying the tank the plants look pretty decent, except for that one which is completely rotted....

i have purchased a book all about this stuff so i will hopefully find a cure and share it online..

ok well i have yet another problem i have cured most of the algea, and took out the dead plants and threw them away, but it seams the hair white algea has spread, here are some flix

i am putting in flourish tabs regularely and dosing them with nutrients (liquid) each water change and providing them around 3 WPG 12 hours daily..... what am i doing wrong..?

This really needs to be in the plant section - but Don't start a new thread over there send a PM to one of the mods currenty online (or gf225, who's the plant mod) and ask to move it across).

Good luck.

Could you give some more info please?

I'm assuming the tank has only recently been set up......hence the Bio Spira. Could you give readings for nitrate and phosphate, if you have the relevant test kits?

I'm guessing your plants are starving to death or the bio spira has affected them. Must admit I've never used Bio Spira, so I don't know what it does to plants.

If you have a read through Nodding Dino's and Houndours EI thread, you will get an idea of what nutrients plants require to remain healthy. It's a long thread, but well worth a read.

Good luck!

Edit : Also , do you have CO2? With that amount of lighting it is needed.
