Algaefix

I avoid using algae/snail fixers and do it manually by hand or changing conditions. Less light usually does it for fixing algae problems.

unfourtunatly we are kinda pushed for room and some of tanks have to go infront of the windows, with lots of afternoon sun :( , anyway picked some up this morning, will see how I go. But yeah teelie I agree I prefer as little amount of chems as possible but my wifes nano 7 gallon tank gets really yuk in a week.

i would get some ottos or shrimp instead of using algaefix, since it contains an ingredient(s) known to cause cancer. algaefix is also known as a flocculant, which binds up the fishes' gills, making it more difficult for them to breathe.

If you can find something to block or at least filter the light that can help too. I've got a tank in front of a window but the curtains and background take care of most of the light. Not always an option understandably.

thanks for the suggestions and info, the main problem tank is already maxed out but I guess I could swap out the lazy bristlenose if I can track some ottos down, and the other tank is cichlid tank so the ottos wouldnt last, LOL, my sailfin is doing an ok job though. Cant have frash water shrimp (or lobster) cause our govt is scared they might destroy our precious aquacultre industry (which already uses introduced fish LOL)
